Earlier today we showed you the “new trailer” for PINEAPPLE EXPRESS 2, which was obviously an April Fools prank, but served as an appetizer for the full red-band trailer for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s THIS IS THE END, an apocalypse comedy starring the “Apatow crew” of Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Michael Cera, Jay Baruchel, Craig Robinson, Jason Segal, Aziz Ansari, Mindy Kaling, Paul Rudd, and a shit ton of guest stars, including Rihanna, Kevin Hart, and Hermoine Granger herself, the lovely Emma Watson.
The actors playing themselves gag isn’t something used very often, but I think it will be a lot of fun here. I’ve enjoyed the work of all of these guys, who represent kind of a who’s who of modern comedy. Their blend of humor is perfectly suited for an alien invasion/apocalypse comedy and it looks like they had a blast making it. Of course, I said the same thing about THE WATCH and that one crashed and burned worse than Maverick in TOP GUN flight school.
