Get serious about your monster education in this Rose Bowl TV spot for Monsters University

JoBloJoBlo

2012 saw a nice batch of animated features and 2013 is showing no signs of slowing down.  I’m not quite sold on the crop just yet, but there’s a few that stand out.  One of them is MONSTERS UNIVERSITY.  Now, I know there are some moans and groans about a prequel to MONSTERS, INC. over a new, original Pixar film, but obviously they’ve got plenty of those in the works, which allows for a revisit to one of their more popular films.  In this new Rose Bowl TV spot we are treated to the illustrious world of college marketing, only with…monsters.

It’s a fun, clever, yet expected type of spot, and that’s all right by me.  Unlike the sequel to Pixar’s CARS, I can easily settle into MONSTERS UNIVERSITY, mostly because I thought MONSTERS, INC. was great, especially with the chemistry of stars John Goodman and Billy Crystal. It may not revolutionize animation, but I’m willing to bet this will be a solid entry in the burgeoning franchise.

Don’t be late for class:

MONSTERS INC., starring John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Steve Buscemi, Julia Sweeney, Dave Foley, and Joel Murray, commences on June 21, 2013.
