I love the works of Stanley Kubrick. I understand how some could find his films boring, static, or even confusing, but to me each movie operates on a plane completely different than any other director. I would definitely consider him at the top of my list of all-time favorite directors.
There is no confusion when you watch a Kubrick movie; you know exactly who directed it. Along with that, he had the signature shot that is compiled in the video below. The shot is known as one-point perspective and it refers to the vanishing point of the image appearing directly in the middle of the shot, forcing the viewer to face it head on. A very interesting technique and, in film, one instantly associated with Kubrick.
All that goodness is set to “Lux Aeterna” which you may recognize from REQUIEM FOR A DREAM. The result is one of the most jaw-dropping movie compilations that you are likely to see.
