Lana and Andy Wachowski are two of the newest names to top the Warner Brothers wishlist for Justice League

Wachowskis together

A while ago we ran the rumor that Ben Affleck was the top choice of Warner Brothers for JUSTICE LEAGUE – many of you were both willing to believe this might maybe be possible and jazzed about the idea, while many more of you called bullshit.  The problem with such rumors is that they’re so juicy you have to give them their full go, but we can officially table the idea of him being involved as Affleck recently settled the matter with an interview.

“I’m not working on the Justice League. One of the problems with entertainment web sites is that they need to fill pages, and that’s how rumours get started.  Justice League sounds really exciting, but it’s not something I’m working on.”

So Affleck’s out, and has now been replaced by none other than MATRIX creators and thoughtful-spectacle purveyors Lana and Andy Wachowski.  This news comes from someone who reports to be an inside source, saying that Warner Bros is “apparently jazzed with ‘Cloud Atlas’, and love that it’s as much a spectacle as it is a showcase for the immense ensemble involved.”  Now just because the Wachowskis are atop the Warner Brothers wishlist doesn’t mean that they are necessarily all that interested themselves, as we saw with Affleck, but considering their cinematic output the Wachowskis are certainly an interesting pair of directors for us to consider as a possibility.

More as we hear it from Warner Brothers’ attempt to craft BIZARRO AVENGERS.
