So let’s not judge a book by its parents, career choices, or ex-wives when it comes to Ashley Hamilton.
Why am I even talking to you about Ashley Hamilton? Actually, you are probably wondering who the hell this person even is. We probably need to get to know him since he’s in talks to play one of the villains in IRON MAN 3.
Hamilton is the spawn of uber-tanned George Hamilton and Rod Stewart’s ex of six years in the 80s. His career is a mixed bag of tricks including a role in BEETHOVEN’S 2ND, HBO series OZ, DANCING WITH THE STARS, and a correspondent on celeb gossip show, EXTRA. Hamilton was also married to Shannen Doherty and Angie Everhart for a short amount of time. Not at the same time of course. He’s also apparently a long time friend of Robert Downey Jr.
Hamilton is in talks for the role of Firepower aka Jack Taggert. The quick character summary goes like this: “The character is the pilot of an experimental armored suit under the secret mission dubbed Project: Firepower. He eventually uses the suit to battle Iron Man.” If you need more, head in this direction. They are also pulling a reverse Nick Fury if the casting goes through.
Firepower was not a part of Warren Ellis’ Extremis story arc, which the script for the third installment is apparently based on. The part would be small for Hamilton since Mallen in the main baddie in Extermis.
IRON MAN 3 is due for release on May 5, 2013.
