New poster for Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator sets its sights on America

JoBloJoBlo

A new poster for Sacha Baron Cohen’s THE DICTATOR arrives today, featuring the main character, General Aladeen, with his eyes on the prize of America.

Have a look:

THE DICTATOR is directed by long-time collaborator Larry Charles (Seinfeld) and co-stars Anna Faris, John C. Reilly, Ben Kingsley, and Megan Fox.  It’s also the first scripted film Cohen has done as the headliner since ALI G IN DA HOUSE movie.  He’s had supporting roles in SWEENEY TODD and HUGO, but those weren’t his personal projects.

The second trailer revealed the direction of the film and I think they chose the right path.  Seeing the Admiral General reduced to what he would probably call peasants is ripe for potential with Cohen’s humor and I think he’ll make the most of it.  I’ve had a great time with Cohen’s comedy films thus far and I’m optimistic that trend will continue with this.

THE DICTATOR opens May 18, 2012.
