If you had a question about how much CGI is used in AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD this featurette may put those questions to rest. It’s a pretty cool breakdown of the various zombie effects and how it was being filmed on set. In a way it’s kind of shocking. Based on previous behind the scenes featurettes and set images I assumed that the majority of the show was practical effects, but it seems that it’s far from it.

I knew they used some CGI, but I guess it never clicked just how much. Not that it deters me from watching the show at all. In fact, the effects are pretty damn impressive as oftentimes I can’t tell one from the other. I mean, that’s the general idea, right?
