Based on the iconic music festival established in 2015 by Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif, the new concert comedy starts the party in theaters on October 2, 2026.
The stacked ensemble cast stars Owen Wilson and comedian Matt Rife, alongside Christine Ko, Sexyy Red, Ski Mask The Slump God, Ty Dolla $ign, Henry Winkler, Christian Convery, Jolene, and Travis Scott.
A Dad’s Worst Nightmare in the Mosh Pit
Directed by Jeremy Garelick (from a screenplay he co-wrote with Zion Garelick), the trailer finds Wilson playing an underappreciated dad trying way too hard to connect with his 13-year-old son (Christian Convery). Despite his wife’s explicit warnings, he secretly sneaks the kid into Rolling Loud to see headliner Travis Scott—only for the bonding weekend to instantly spiral out of control.
What starts as a bonding weekend instantly spirals out of control when he loses his son in a sea of thousands. Swept through mosh pits, backstage chaos, and a city of sound, he links up with unhinged wildcards played by Matt Rife, Christine Ko, and the raw, unpredictable energy of Sexyy Red, Ty Dolla $ign, and Ski Mask the Slump God. Every choice gets worse, every moment gets louder, and there’s no easy way out.

The premise of this movie reminds me of when my dad took my friend Dean and me to Lollapalooza ’95, featuring bands like Sonic Youth, Hole, Cypress Hill, Pavement, Beck, The Jesus Lizard, Failure, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Elastica. By the end of the day, Dean and I were so muddy we had to ride in the trunk of my dad’s brand-new Ford Explorer on the way home. It was my first major music festival experience, and I returned in 1997 to see Tool, Snoop Dogg, The Prodigy, Korn, Orbital, and Tricky headline the show.
