Bin Laden returns from the watery grave as Osombie in this trailer and poster

There’s something about a well-made “cheap” film that gets me kind of excited. I think most super schmoes dig all types of films and OSOMBIE looks to have a special spot in my “cheesy fun” category. It’s not high art and we know this, but it looks like a great blend of silliness and shlock, enough to down some drinks and have a good ol’ fashioned “Mystery Science Theater” evening with.

Check out this crazy shit:

There’s something to be said about a film that doesn’t try to pull the wool over your eyes and lets you know exactly what it is from the get go. I would’ve liked to hear more dialogue/comedy bits from this teaser, but overall this looks like damn good fun to me. Also, do men fight better with their shirts off?  That shit cracks me up.

The film stars Corey Sevier, Eve Mauro (pictured below), and Danielle Chuchran.

Here’s the synopsis:

The story follows Dusty, a yoga instructor from Colorado, who is on a desperate rescue mission to save her crazy brother Derek, a conspiracy theorist who is convinced Osama Bin Laden is still alive, despite having been buried at sea. In Afghanistan, Dusty falls in with a team of NATO Special Forces on a secret assignment. Turns out Derek is not so crazy after all, and that Osama has returned from his watery grave and is making an army of zombie terrorists. When the group crashes headlong into the growing zombie apocalypse, Dusty and the troops must find and destroy the root of the zombie insurgency before it infests the rest of the world.

The filmmakers are trying to raise a few bucks to finish up their opus, so if you’ve got some disposable income you can head to their site and pledge some cash. Or, just wait for its inevitable release on Netflix streaming. Your choice, of course. Either way, I look forward to catching this someday, as I’ve got plenty of “serious” films already on my plate.
