A little HUGO reunion might be happening in Gavin Hood’s ENDER’S GAME.

According to THR’s Heat Vision, Ben Kingsley is in talks to join lead Asa Butterfield in the adaptation of the Orson Scott Card award-winning sci-fi novel. The film is “set in a future where the Earth is under attack by an insect-like race and mankind has created a battle school to train fighting forces. In this environment enters Ender Wiggin (Butterfield), a kid who is tormented by bullies and an older brother but proves to be a master at a three-dimensional, zero-gravity laser tag-like game. That sets him on a path as a possible savior of the human race.” Kinglsey is expected to play a legendary war hero long thought to be dead.

Also in talks as previously reported is TRUE GRIT’s Hailee Steinfeld, who’s up for the part of ‘Petra Arkanian’, the only girl in the Salamander Army who inevitably becomes Ender’s ally and trusted right hand.

ENDER’S GAME is currently scheduled to begin production this February.
