New R-rated spot for Young Adult is short, funny, and mean

I like what we’ve been shown so far from YOUNG ADULT, the Jason Reitman/Diablo Cody joint starring the lovely Charlize Theron as an embittered womanchild. I say this having not been a big fan at all of Reitman or Cody’s last two solo efforts (though I still to this day really enjoy JUNO).

And so far it’s looking like Theron’s performance will be the film’s stand-out element. This new, under-a-minute R-rated spot that’s just been released called ‘Sweater’ seems to prove it. Check it out below!

YOUNG ADULT opens December 9th.

Synopsis: Academy Award winner Charlize Theron plays Mavis Gary, a writer of teen literature who returns to her small hometown to relive her glory days and attempt to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson). When returning home proves more difficult than she thought, Mavis forms an unusual bond with a former classmate (Patton Oswalt) who hasn’t quite gotten over high school, either.
