HANNA, the new film by Joe Wright, is brilliant. Yet it is clearly no fluke as this incredibly talented director also brought us ATONEMENT, PRIDE & PREJUDICE and THE SOLOIST. Yet with Hanna, he proves to be extremely capable of making an action movie with heart and soul. This powerful tale of a young assassin is intense, beautiful and fascinating.

When JoBlo.com spoke to Wright, he elaborated on the connection that Hanna has to a fairy tale. We also spoke about the perfect casting of Saoirse Ronan and the hypnotic score by The Chemical Brothers. Hanna is a truly captivating movie from a skilled director. Whether he is taking on Jane Austin, or creating a dark and ethereal world of assassins, he is certainly proving to be one of the most gifted directors of this generation.

HANNA is a must-see. It opens Friday and it is well worth searching for.
