Hah, that’s one my favorite headlines I’ve written in a while.
But no, this is not a sordid tale of Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza’s exploits, rather her new film THE HAND JOB is amassing a pretty solid ensemble cast.
The movie stars Plaza as a sexually inexperienced girl trying to work her way through a checklist of various acts before she gets to college. I’m all for Plaza getting her own starring vehicle and it’s nice to see a sex comedy based around an awkward GIRL for once. Oh right, I forgot about EASY A. But I bet Plaza will be more awkward.
Now joining her are Friday Night Light’s Scott Porter, who will play a guy in a band she has a crush on, and SUPERBAD’s, Chris Mintz-Plasse who will be a sci-fi nerd. Also on board are a second Friday Nights alum, Connie Britton as her free spirit mother, Alia Shawkat as her best friend and Bill Hader as a stoned lifeguard. Also in the mix are Donald Glover, Johnny Simmons and Andy Samberg.
It sounds like a funny concept, and with this cast, I’m definitely looking forward to it.
