We don’t know much about Neill Blomkamp’s ELYSIUM, but now the film has a villain.
Wagner Moura who starred in the popular Brazilian films, ELITE SQUAD and ELITE SQUAD 2 has been hired to be the baddie. The actor will be in good company with the rest of the cast: Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, and Sharlto Copley. Although Latino Review broke the news, THR came in with an extra tidbit on Moura’s character. They said that he will play a powerful villain with a crazy sense of humor.
The plot has been described by Blomkamp as, “set on another planet, but it’s cool. It’s violent, very violent, and very unique hopefully.” We know it’s set in the future, social class figures into this new world, and Damon will play an ex-con.
On top of all this, Syd Mead (BLADE RUNNER) is the one in charge of set design. Amazing.
