Mandy Moore (TANGLED) has mostly been known for light and innocuous movie fare over the course of her 10+ years in the business. But now, BURIED writer Chris Sparling hopes to change all that by casting the sweet young actress in the supernatural drama FALLING SLOWLY.

The film, a ghost story about “a couple whose apartment is haunted by a dark presence,” will be Sparling’s directorial debut after making some waves with his script for the Ryan Reynolds “underground” thriller BURIED (which won him the National Board of Review’s best original screenplay award).

Also cast along with Moore is Rodrigo Santoro. He starred most recently in I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS and in both parts of Steven Soderbergh’s CHE, though you probably know him best as the tall and homoerotic ‘Xerxes’ from Zack Snyder’s 300. The Brazilian-born actor is also providing voice work in the upcoming animated film RIO, alongside Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg.
