Disney is planning on bringing back everyone’s favorite diminutive flying hottie, Tinkerbell, in a live-action romantic comedy entitled TINK. And they’re certainly casting the right girl for it – The lovely Elizabeth Banks (who helped develop the project) is attached to star.
The film will come courtesy of producers Adam Shankman (17 AGAIN), McG (“Human Target”), and Jennifer Gibgot (STEP UP 3-D), with Elizabeth Wright Shapiro and McG writing the script. No director is currently attached (though if it turns out to be McG, I will seriously laugh).
Not much info on the story itself is given by Variety except that the concept for the project “plays with the mischievous nature of the Tinkerbell character.”
Banks will next be seen later this year in Paul Haggis’s THE NEXT THREE DAYS and then next year in MY IDIOT BROTHER opposite Paul Rudd.
