Sam Worthington claims Clash of the Titans 2 will fix everything

I still can’t quite believe they’re making CLASH OF THE TITANS 2 as the film was universally derided as pretty goddamn terrible, but thanks to the power of the foreign box office and 3D ticket prices, the original has grossed almost $500M worldwide.

But just because a film doesn’t need to be made, that doesn’t mean it won’t, and Sam Worthington was recently asked by ComingSoon what he knew about the sequel and what he wanted it to be.

[It] will be 3D this time…Shot in 3D. Do put that in and make them fucking aware… When I read Clash 2, they came to me the other day. I said, ‘I kinda dig where it’s going, but can we make the character more of this? Can we make it more of that? Can I get to play a lot more and get involved and have a lot more fucking fun than just being a young man who has to stand there and look pretty?’ I’m sick of doing that, so it’s kind of a case of, ‘How do we make Perseus a lot more fun?’ So we’re sort of shaping it down that track.

I guess he’s heard people like me making fun of him that his characters are really, really one-dimensional, and he’s right to request they give Peruses more of a personality, though I will say a lot of that also depends on his acting. If his characters were as funny as his quotes about his characters are, he might really have something there.

I honestly can’t imagine that they would be able to talk Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson back into their respective roles as Hades and Zeus, as it was the two worst performances either actor had given in quite some time. I will be curious to hear what the general plot outline looks like this time around, and what random pieces of Greek mythology will be smashed together to form the story.
