I found some new details on the Ouija movie!
Yes, they’re still doing the Ouija movie. Are you surprised?
Back in 2008, we dispensed the news that a movie based on the popular “board game” would be coming and produced by the master of explosions, Michael Bay. It was also mentioned that it would not be like JUMANJI and David Berenbaum (ELF) would be writing the screenplay.
Brad Fueller, producer for the upcoming A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET gave an update on the untitled Ouija project to Bloody Disgusting, “‘Ouija’ isn’t really a horror movie per se, it’s definitely more of a big action-adventure movie along the lines of…I gotta be careful what I compare it to. But you know, it’s like a big action-adventure movie. And that script…I’ve read a couple pages of it, it seems good. I think we’re getting the full script in the next month. And that’s a very exciting project for it, cause it’s a much bigger movie, and it gives us an opportunity to try something we haven’t done before…There are definitely horror elements, because it’s about Ouija and what happens from an Ouija board, but it’s a much bigger film. I would call it an action-adventure with horror elements.” I just want to point out that he said what he read of the script, “seemed good”. When I read that it made me giggle a little. He could of just said, “Yeah, I couldn’t continue reading the script. It’s shit.”
Awww, that was a little harsh. It could be good. ELF was fun…
Fueller also shared some info on two other remakes, MONSTER SQUAD and THE BIRDS, “We’re all systems go on ‘Monster Squad’. We’re meeting with writers every day on that, trying to pick a writer to write that…’The Birds’ we’re still trying to figure out.”
