Helms rides Rapids

JoBloJoBlo

Anyone who watched him on “The Daily Show” knows that Ed Helms is daring and game for pretty much anything, further proven by his abuse in THE HANGOVER.

That comedy’s smash status has surely given him loads of new options, but he’ll travel again for the indie CEDAR RAPIDS. The road-trip comedy (flashback!) is produced by Alexander Payne (SIDEWAYS) and directed by Miguel Arteta (THE GOOD GIRL), so should be a bit more quirky than raunchy. Maybe no lost memories or teeth for Ed this time.

Helms will play a “wholesome and naive small-town Wisconsin man who must represent his company at a regional insurance conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where his mind is blown by the big-town experience.” He’ll next be seen in the car-salesman comedy THE GOODS: LIVE HARD, SELL HARD.
