Susan Sarandon and John Goodman have joined the cast of HBO Films’ YOU DON’T KNOW JACK, a biopic on infamous euthanasia advocate Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Loosely based on Neal Nicol and Harry Wylie’s book “Between the Dying and the Dead: Dr. Jack Kevorkian’s Life and the Battle to Legalize Euthanasia,” Al Pacino steps into the role of Kevorkian as he sets out to legalize euthanasia, while at the same time building his Mercy Machine, going to jail and ultimately assisting in about 130 suicides. Sarandon will play Janet Good, an activist with the Hemlock Society who supported Kevorkian’s crusade, but opted not to employ his services when she herself was stricken with terminal cancer. Goodman will play Nicol, whose laboratory supply company provided a lot of the materials Kevorkian used. Barry Levinson will direct from a script by Adam Mazer. Sarandon can next be seen in Peter Jackson’s upcoming THE LOVELY BONES and Goodman can next be heard in Disney’s return to 2D animation THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG.
