Eerily prescient JoBlo staffer Jim Law just recently asked for a new feature filmed based on Stephen King’s creepy clown story IT. And as if by some dark magic or soul-selling, Warner Bros. has conveniently obliged. Talk about service!
The studio is bringing the infamous childhood terror tale to life, with writer Dave Kajganich already at work on the script. The dual time-period story involves a group of kids (who call themselves “the Losers Club”) haunted by their greatest fears come real, and the ultimate personification of evil, Pennywise the clown. The gang reunites years later to deal with It once and for all.
The novel was already loosely adapted into a two-part 1990 TV movie, mostly notable for Tim Curry’s truly chilling performance as the monstrous clown.
