President Cruise?

JoBloJoBlo

Since viciously berating everyone in earshot in TROPIC THUNDER and trying to kill Hitler in VALKYRIE, Tom Cruise has been giving a lot of thought to several high-profile projects without actually pulling the trigger.

His interest has apparently returned to THE 28TH AMENDMENT, a political thriller that would put the diminutive grin machine in the Oval Office. Director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarc, who won the 2006 foreign language Oscar for THE LIVES OF OTHERS, is now attached to the Warner Bros. movie.

The story, from ubiquitous scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, would find President Cruise suddenly in the crosshairs of the secret society who actually runs the government and decides he should be permanently removed from the White House. (Early reports had Denzel Washington co-starring as his nemesis — coincidentally, the duo may team up for David Cronenberg’s THE MATARESE CIRCLE).
