A big juicy Pineapple

JoBloJoBlo

Who gets high and goes to the movies on a Wednesday?

A whole lot of people, apparently. The stoner action-comedy PINEAPPLE EXPRESS ambled into town yesterday, and plenty of humans noticed. The delicious blend of fruit and weed inhaled $12 million, and (since everything box-office related nowadays is about breaking records) took the top spot for an August Wednesday opening.

Aside from movies already in release (and some itinerant trousers and the girls who love them), the Apatow-gang movie won’t have much competition for bloodshot eyes until next week when TROPIC THUNDER, MIRRORS and the CGI CLONE WARS all arrive.
