It’s the week of Comic Con, so comic-related projects are slapping us around like a drunken Dr. Hank Pym all week. The latest to get feature treatment is Top Cow’s book MAGDALENA.
The movie will star foxy dancing seductress Jenna Dewan (TAMARA, STEP UP) and Luke Goss, who’s shooting for the record for appearances in comic-themed flicks (BLADE II, HELLBOY II, and I guess SILVER HAWK sorta counts, although it shouldn’t).
The character, a spinoff from the supernatural hitman series THE DARKNESS (also in movie development since forever), is a descendant of Jesus’ disciple/prostitute Mary Magdalene, who in Dewan incarnation now wields the Spear of Destiny and fights demons for the Catholic Church. Goss plays an agent sent by the secret organization that has been the guardian of the lineage.
