Bana does comedy?

JoBloJoBlo

We’ve seen Eric Bana’s intensity in movies like MUNICH, BLACK HAWK DOWN and that one where he turned green, but can he also bring the funny? He should — after all, he started out Down Under on sketch shows like FULL FRONTAL and ERIC. And hey, CHOPPER was sort of a comedy.

Now CHUD hears that Bana’s getting into the funny business with Hollywood’s current go-to guys: Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen. The as-yet-untitled project, which Apatow describes as a hilarious drama about stand-up comics, also features Adam Sandler.

What’s more, CHUD is saying that Apatow wants Bana for the role of Leslie Mann’s boyfriend in the flick. Is this guy a masochist or what? Pairing your real-life wife with the guy who nearly out-abdominaled Brad Pitt in TROY is a gutsy move.

Bana will next be seen in THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE and JJ Abrams’ STAR TREK, which I presume will not be intentional comedies.
