It’s around this time that we start getting an influx of trailers for Oscar bait films. Another record-breaking blockbuster summer is coming to a close so it’s now time to focus on them “thinking” films that most of us won’t actually see but will do a damn good job of pretending to have seen, lest we be labeled ignorant in the middle of a pretentious film conversation. The upcoming Terry George directed RESERVATION ROAD is a surefire bet to garner at the very least some peripheral Oscar talk. The story centers on two fathers (Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Ruffalo) whose lives and families become intertwined after the death of a child. Jennifer Connelly plays Phoenix’s wife and Mira Sorvino plays Ruffalo’s ex-wife. Get a glimpse the film’s Oscar worthy drama courtesy of Amazon HERE. The film opens October 19th.
