Dark is Rising pics

Amongst the troves of roaming dogs
and the city drivers who have apparently nothing left to live for, a little film
adaptation of the Susan Cooper novel THE DARK IS RISING is being filmed in Bucharest, Romania;
and it’s looking amazing!

The pictures below are from said
film, and while it’s swayed from the original story by Cooper, both director
David Cunningham and writer John Hodge have managed to put together an absolute
great fantasy film that’s set in realism. (Sound strange? Once my full set visit
is up all will be explained!)

THE DARK IS RISING is a film telling the story of Will Stanton, a young
man who learns he is the last of a group of warriors who have dedicated their
lives to fighting the forces of the Dark. Traveling back and forth through time
Will discovers a series of clues, which lead him into a showdown with forces of
unimaginable power. With the Dark once again rising, the future of the world
rests in Will’s hands.

So take a look at the pics below
from the film, and check back soon as I begin my descent back into madness with my
set report; or as I like to refer to it: "How I learned to stop worrying and love
Romania". THE DARK IS RISING hits theatres October 5th,
2007 and stars Jonathan Jackson, Ian McShane, Christopher Eccleston,
Frances Conroy and others…
