UPDATE: THE TRAILER HAS BEEN PULLED

THE DARK TOWER is about to rise, in a brand new trailer to be debuted… well, now. A rough cut of the film's teaser has been leaked today, and it reveals a lot that fans have been waiting anxiously to find out about the film. Be warned, it is very different from the source material. Focusing mainly on Tom Taylor's Jake in modern day New York City, a lot of the elements that define the book series are notably absent, but that doesn't mean they won't come around. This isn't even a finished cut of the trailer.

What it does have to offer that's undeniably positive is our first look at Matthew McConaughey in character as the sinister Man in  Black. Check it out below!

THE DARK TOWER is:

Based on the Stephen King-penned fantasy series. The film will follow a wandering knight who is the last hope of the fallen land of Mid-World. He is charged with finding the Dark Tower while battling his nemesis the Man in Black.

The cast incudes Idris Elba as the Gunslinger Roland Deschain, Matthew McConaughey as the villainous Man in Black, Fran Kranz as the MIB's right hand man Pimli, Katheryn Winnick as an unknown character, and Abbey Lee as Tirana, who was a minor baddie in the climactic book.

THE DARK TOWER will rise into theaters on February 17, 2017.
