With the FROM DUSK TILL DAWN film and television series, THE FACULTY, and the PLANET TERROR segment of GRINDHOUSE, Robert Rodriguez has made some cool, fun contributions to the horror genre, and now he's teaming up with Bold Films to produce another horror offering, one called BLOOD.

Originating as a screenplay written by Misha Green, co-creator of the WGN America series Underground, BLOOD centers on

a recently engaged woman who becomes determined to find her birth family before she marries. But when she meets her unusual kin in the deep woods of Florida, she begins reliving horrifying suppressed memories that lead her to believe her newfound relatives may be hiding some dark secrets.

Jeff Buhler, who wrote the Clive Barker adaptation THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN and the upcoming JACOB'S LADDER remake, has been hired to do a fresh draft of the script. Buhler has also done a rewrite on Paramount's long-in-development remake of PET SEMATARY.

Rodriguez will be producing BLOOD with Michel Litvak and Gary Michael Walters of Bold Films. Lisa Zambri serves as executive producer.

With financing secured, the team of producers in place, and the script being punched up, the search for a director and cast will likely commence before long. We'll keep you updated as BLOOD continues to come together.
