GOD PARTICLE's crusade to gather the most eclectic actors from across the globe still hasn't been completed. The latest addition to the J. J. Abrams-produced sci-fi project is Zhang Ziyi.
The Chinese actress has appeared in martial arts films like CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS, and the gorgeous Jet Li flick HERO, but she also took the lead in the Oscar-winning MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA. She hasn't been in a major U.S. title for a couple years now, so it'll be a treat to see her back in action.
GOD PARTICLE:
takes place in the near future. It centers on a team of astronauts who make a terrifying discovery that challenges all they know about the fabric of reality, as they desperately fight for their survival.
GOD PARTICLE stars David Oyelowo (SELMA) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (BEYOND THE LIGHTS), with Daniel Brühl (CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR), Chris O'Dowd (BRIDESMAIDS) and Elizabeth Debicki (THE GREAT GATSBY) on board as well. It's directed by Julius Onah. The film is set to hit theaters on February 24, 2017.
