Starz has already green lit season two of Ash vs. Evil Dead

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

News doesn't get much better than this! The premiere of the Starz television series Ash vs. Evil Dead is still three days away, but Starz has already announced that they are dedicated to "the Ash-kicking business" and have given the show a greenlight to move forward on season two.

Bruce Campbell will, of course, remain in the role of titular hero Ash for the second season, with co-star Lucy Lawless also confirmed to be coming back as the mysterious Ruby.

Returning behind the scenes are showrunner Craig DiGregorio and his fellow executive producers, EVIL DEAD creators Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. Campbell is also an executive producer on the show.

Starz Managing Director Carmi Zlotnik had this to say about the show's early renewal:

"One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans two decade-long appetite for more Ash. The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with season one."

The synopsis for the series:

Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter, has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

The first episode of Ash vs. Evil Dead season one's ten episode run is set to air on Starz October 31st, Halloween night, at 9pm EST. The premiere will be broadcast simultaneously in over one hundred countries and territories worldwide.
