Wes Studi and Dane DiLiegro have joined the cast of Seasons, the upcoming supernatural horror thriller from Companion writer/director Drew Hancock and Amazon MGM Studios, Deadline reports. Studi and DiLiegro join a growing cast that includes Lily James (Baby Driver), Jack Reynor (Midsommar), Ron Perlman (Hellboy), and Elizabeth McGovern (Downton Abbey).
Seasons follows a husband and wife who purchase their dream ranch, only to discover that the land is inhabited by ancient spirits. To survive, the couple must submit to increasingly disturbing rituals as the seasons change.
James leads the film as the wife at the center of the story, while Reynor plays her husband. The roles being played by the other cast members have not been specified.
Hancock is directing Seasons from his own screenplay, which is based on the novel Old Country by Matt and Harrison Query. That book expanded upon Matt Query’s viral horror short story My Wife and I Bought a Ranch, which originally appeared as a series of posts on Reddit’s r/nosleep community. The movie was originally set up at Netflix before moving to Amazon MGM Studios.
Shawn Levy and Dan Levine are producing for 21 Laps, alongside James Wan and Michael Clear for Blumhouse Atomic Monster. Scott Glassgold and Dan Cohen are also producing for 12:01 Films, with Judson Scott executive producing for Blumhouse Atomic Monster. Alayna Glasthal is overseeing the project for Amazon MGM.
Studi is an acclaimed veteran actor whose extensive film credits include Dances with Wolves, The Last of the Mohicans, Geronimo: An American Legend, Heat, Avatar, Hostiles, and The New World. He has also appeared in television projects including Penny Dreadful and Hell on Wheels. DiLiegro is known for roles in Prey (where he played the Predator), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Walking Dead, V/H/S/Beyond, Skeleton Crew, and Only Murders in the Building. Before pursuing acting, DiLiegro played professional basketball.
Seasons marks Hancock’s follow-up to Companion, his 2025 feature directorial debut. Hancock originally wrote the screenplay for Companion, which was produced by Zach Cregger, the filmmaker behind Barbarian and Weapons. With Seasons, Hancock is returning to horror with another high-concept premise, this time trading the science fiction elements of Companion for an isolated ranch, ancient supernatural forces, and a series of rituals that become more disturbing with every season.
