Cinemax debuts new trailer for Robert Kirkman’s Outcast

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Given that Cinemax released the first trailer for their show Outcast back in July to coincide with the San Diego Comic Con, it’s only fitting that they released a new trailer over the weekend to coincide with the New York Comic Con. Submitted for your approval, that second trailer is now embedded below.

Based on a comic book created by The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman, Outcast

tells the story of Kyle Barnes, who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now, with the help of the Reverend Anderson, a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. But what Kyle discovers could change his fate — and the fate of the world — forever.

The series, which Cinemax has given a ten episode order, stars Patrick Fugit, Philip Glenister, Kip Pardue, Reg E. Cathey, Julia Crockett, Allison Barnes, David Denman, Melinda McGraw, Grace Zabriskie, Catherine Dent, Brent Spiner, Lee Tergesen, and Wrenn Schmidt. The pilot episode was directed by Adam Wingard (YOU’RE NEXT, THE GUEST).

A premiere date has yet to be set for the show, but it will begin airing in the U.S. on Cinemax and on Fox internationally sometime in 2016.

I’m a fan of The Walking Dead, so I’m interested in seeing how Kirkman will handle a different sub-genre with this one, and I am very drawn in by the tone and visual style on display in the trailers. I’m looking forward to checking this one out.
