Brit Marling turns her back in new poster for The Keeping Room

After 8 months of quietude on the western front of THE KEEPING ROOM – a revenge thriller starring Brit Marling – a fresh one-sheet for the flick has been unrolled. Also starring Sam Worthington and Hailee Steinfeld, the flick debuted at TIFF last year, and now looks to hit the public on September 25th, courtesy of Drafthouse Films. From director Daniel Barber (HARRY BROWN):

In this radically reimagined American Western set towards the end of the Civil War, Southerner Augusta (Marling) encounters two renegade, drunken soldiers (Worthington) who are on a mission of pillage and violence. After escaping an attempted assault, Augusta races back to the isolated farmhouse that she shares with her sister Louise (Steinfeld) and their female slave Mad (newcomer Muna Otaru.) When the pair of soldiers track Augusta down intent on exacting revenge, the trio of women are forced to take up arms to fend off their assailants, finding ways to resourcefully defend their home––and themselves––as the escalating attacks become more unpredictable and relentless.”

On a day when THE HATFUL EIGHT is ruling the internet, THE KEEPING ROOM could actually play as a diametrically oppsed double feature? What says you?
