A new face has joined Akiva Goldsman’s horror-thriller STEPHANIE, as THR got the early word that Kenneth Choi, who most recently appeared on NBC's series Allegiance and FX's Sons of Anarchy, will star in Universal's new horror film. Choi joins the previously announced Frank Grillo, Shree Crooks and Anna Torv.
The story centers on…
…a young girl named Stephanie (Crooks) who is abandoned by her parents, forced to survive on peanut butter and conversations with her toy turtle. When her parents return to claim their daughter, they find dark supernatural forces are wreaking havoc, with Stephanie at the center of the turmoil.
Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski wrote the script for the horror project, which will be produced by Jason Blum and Matt Kaplan alongside Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Adrienne Biddle. Nate Matteson, Eric Robinson and Bryan Bertino will executive produce.
