Last month we learned that the next FRIDAY THE 13TH would not be a direct sequel to the remake, but other than that all the details were pretty much slim to none. Now, the latest rumor swirling around the internet is that the next FRIDAY THE 13TH may be headed into found footage territory. Right now it's all talk and nothing is for sure just yet but the idea is still there, and it's a scary one. Maybe it's because I like my horror movies the old fashion way, but I'm just not convinced this is the best way to go.
It's no doubt an interesting route to take the film, but because this would be the 13th film in the franchise I feel like they need to do it right and give fans what they want—and I don't think fans want a shaky, distorted mess. Let's face it, the studio can make any kind of film they want because they know they're going to get asses in the theater regardless, so all we can really do is hope for the best. That's all we know for now, but hopefully we'll learn more soon and be able to shed some light on what's to come for FRIDAY THE 13TH.
