Per Variety, it looks like Sarah Gadon will be taken under DRACULA's spell for Universal's upcoming origin story of the most famous of vampires. Gadon is currently in negotiations for the female lead who will star alongside Luke Evans in the film. DRACULA is moving pretty quickly so expect see a lot more of this one around here as more develops.
The film will follow a young prince who, when the lives of his wife and child are put in danger by a bloodthirsty sultan, risks his soul to save them and in the process becomes the first vampire. More as it comes.

Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless wrote the latest draft of the script. VP of production Anikah McLaren and creative executive Jay Polidoro will oversee the project for Universal. DRACULA has been moving pretty quickly since it got the greenlight and we can expect to see this one land in theaters on August 8, 2014.
