A couple days ago Jake gave us all a look at some exciting shots from Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS found in the upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly. Now today we’ve got an intriguing little interview EW did with one of the flick’s writers – Mr. Damon Lindelof!

In the interview the writer/producer talks in length about PROMETHEUS but also touches on what life has been like ever since the end of the super-popular “Lost.” Here’s a little bit he had to say regarding PROMETHEUS:

“I do not want to be evasive, but I do have to challenge what you mean by that word. Because that word is a very recent thing. I hadn’t really heard the word “prequel” before Phantom Menace. If your definition is: this is a series of events that precedes an existing movie, then, yes. This series of events that happens in Prometheus precedes the series of events that occurs in Alien. However, one of the other definitions is that the ending of the prequel leads you right up to the beginning of the preceding movie. The Thing prequel ends with a dog running across the Arctic landscape being pursued by a helicopter….”

Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

The highly anticipated sci-fi romp hits theaters on June 8th with an all-star cast that includes Noomi Rapace (below), Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Patrick Wilson, Rafe Spall, Katie Dickie, Emun Elliot, Logan Marshall-Green, and Sean Harris.
