So I haven’t watched HBO’s “True Blood” since halfway into Season 2. I’m sure someday I’ll revisit this shite and see what the big deal is but right now it’s just not a priority for me. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to bring you every “True Blood” update that comes our way though!

With that being said, I’ve come here today to tell you all about a bit more casting for this upcoming fifth season of “True Blood.” According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed blog the show’s ‘Vampire Authority’ is now complete with the addition of youngster Jacob Hopkins and cougar Carolyn Hennesy. They join the previously cast Christopher Meloni and Peter Mensah in the ‘Vampire Authority.’

The ‘Authority’ is the highest vampire governing body and will feature Hopkins (above) as Alexander Drew, one of the Authority’s chancellors who was turned to darkness at the age of 9-years-old. Alexander is described as an impetuous vamp who likes to taunt those around him.

Thanks to a Japanese scientist’s invention of synthetic blood, vampires have progressed from legendary monsters to fellow citizens overnight. And while humans have been safely removed from the menu, many remain apprehensive about these creatures “coming out of the coffin.” Religious leaders and government officials around the world have chosen their sides, but in the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps, the jury is still out.

Hopkins and Hennesy (below) join Meloni, Mensah, Christopher Heyerdahl, Scott Foley, Lucy Griffiths, Dale Dickey, Louis Herthum, Valentina Cervi and Kelly Overton and the rest of the “True Blood” cast when season five kicks off sometime this Summer on HBO.
