Warner Bros. melding Paranormal Activity and Rear Window with The Waiting

You read that right: PARANORMAL ACTIVITY meets REAR WINDOW. In other words “an easy concept for a studio exec to swallow.”

Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. pre-emptively acquired THE WAITING from newbie scribes Mark Bianculli and Jeff Richard

The pitch for THE WAITING: Two high school filmmakers decide to create the illusion of a haunting on an unsuspecting neighbor.

I’m going to guess right now that things don’t go they way they planned… (Do they accidentally kill the neighbor? Do real ghosts muck up their illusion? The possibilities are endless.)

This is big news for scribes Bianculli and Richard, who are just breaking into the screenplay realm after working as writing assistants on TV shows like “NCIS” and “Justified”.

No director has been attached to THE WAITING just yet. Guess we’ll have to… wait.
