Let the found-footage trend continue…

Perhaps seeing how lucrative THE DEVIL INSIDE was, WWE has netted a found-footage horror screenplay called BERMUDA. The script comes from Lee Darby and Nathan Brookes, who previously wrote the Japanese-inspired cult horror joint SLAUGHTER.

As Deadline puts it, Set in the Bermuda Triangle, the story focuses on a documentary film crew that goes missing. The only trace is the discovery of their film footage chronicling their final desperate days.

WWE Studios president Michael Luisi had this to say about the acquisition:

”The Bermuda Triangle has always been an intriguing and mysterious setting…Bobby and Nathan’s script puts a very unique spin on the found footage genre.”

Sounds good to me, as long as BERMUDA doesn’t cling too closely to the other single-word-location-reference, TRIANGLE. Remember, that was a TIMECRIMES rip-off anyway.

More on BERMUDA as it beaches.
