FX’s AMERICAN HORROR STORY scored a pretty big win at last nights Golden Globe awards. Jessica Lange took home the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mjni-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. She beat out fellow nominee’s Kelly Macdonald, Maggie Smith, Sofia Vergara and Evan Rachel Wood; pretty impressive with who she was up against.
With this win, the question is now in the air of whether she will make a return to the show. We heard that Season 2 will be all-new everything, however FX president John Landgraf revealed a new tidbit about that. He stated that Ryan Murphy is now casting Season 2 and that “two or three Season 1 cast members may be continuing next year, although they would be playing entirely new roles.”
An interesting decision, and if anyone were to come back I know I’d love to see Lange back. She also commented on this news stating, “I don’t know much more than anybody in this room but yes, we are considering a second season. Nothing is definite yet.” Does she know who is returning? “That’s going to be entirely up to the producers. I know that everybody that is returning will be playing a different character.”
It is a shame we wont see her awesome character back but if given the chance I think she could craft another character, maybe even a more memorable one. We’ll be keeping our eyes pealed for more casting news and general news about the series.
