Chick with a chainsaw stands tall in this [REC] Genesis standee

It feels like we’ve been awaiting [REC] GENESIS for years now. Maybe we have. But as we approach its spring release, we’re thankfully going to see more and more from the prequel to the uber-successful Spanish franchise.

Case in point: the official [REC] Facebook page just slapped up the below picture of a theatrical standee for GENESIS; the tagline is “May now kiss the bride”. If any of our friends in Spain would like to steal one for me, that’d be much appreciated. I want this in my room, pronto. (Who doesn’t want a hot chainsaw-wielding bride in their room, though?)

The action now takes place miles away from the original location and partly in broad daylight, giving the film an entirely fresh yet disturbing new reality. The infection has left the building. In a clever twist that draws together the plots of the first two movies, this third part of the saga also works as a decoder to uncover information hidden in the first two films and leaves the door open for the final installment the future, REC 4 Apocalypse.

[REC] GENESIS opens in Spain on MARCH 30, 2012.
