Tony and Ridley Scott are producing a reboot of COMA, the 1978 medical thriller directed by Michael Crichton (yes, that one) from a book by Robin Cook. Said reboot will be a mini-series penned by John J. McLaughlin (a co-writer on BLACK SWAN).

The network has lined up a pretty sweet cast for the redo, including Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under”), Richard Dreyfuss, Ellen Burstyn, James Woods, Steven Pasquale, James Rebhorn, Joseph Mazello, Joe Morton and Geena Davis.

The original flick starred Michael Douglas, Geneviève Bujold, Rip Torn and Richard Widmark.

The two-night, four-hour miniseries is set to bow Memorial Day 2012. Here’s the synopsis: After her best friend falls into a coma during routine surgery, Dr. Susan Wheeler discovers similar cases at her prestigious Boston hospital. But as her investigation unfolds, Susan uncovers a horrific conspiracy – and suddenly finds herself marked for death.
