The answer is… Novak Djokovic!
A good lot of you are likely just plain confused. This isn’t exactly a household name – unless you’re really into tennis. Novak Djokovic is really into tennis, so much so that he’s the world’s #1 ranked player. Basically right now he’s Michael Jordan with a racket.
Deadline reports that Djokovic recently arrived in Bulgaria, where THE EXPENDABLES 2 is currently shooting, after receiving an invite from producer Avi Lerner. Djokovic, who is of Serbian descent, will apparently be playing himself in the action flick, although the extent of his role is unknown.
The tennis pro is known for his fiery personality and tendency to impersonate (or sometimes simply mock) other players, so he’s no stranger to hamming it up for the camera. It’ll be interesting to see how director Simon West utilizes his services. (It’s hard to imagine that Stallone and company will take a break from warring with murderous dictators to settle down for a nice leisurly tennis match.)
