I’ve expressed my love for all things serial killer before. I’ve also mentioned how I’m a big fan of both John Cusak and Nicolas Cage. So it should go without saying that I’m actually very excited for FROZEN GROUND, that true-life serial killer flick coming our way from director Scott Walker.
Now we already know that Cusak will be playing real-life serial killer ‘Robert Hansen’ with Cage as the trooper who takes him down. Now we’ve got word on yet another name joining the project. According to The Hollywood Reporter it seems BROOKLYN BROTHERS BEAT THE BEST writer/director Ryan O’Nan has decided to exercise his acting chops in FROZEN GROUND. O’Nan will be playing a state trooper that assists Cage.
Halcombe (Nicolas Cage) sets out to end the murderous rampage of Robert Hansen (John Cusack), a serial killer who has silently stalked the streets of Alaska for more than 13 years. As the bodies of Anchorage women start to add up, Sgt. Halcombe goes on a personal manhunt to find the killer. When 17 year old Cindy Paulson escapes Hansen’s unspeakable violence, she believes the law will take him down. Instead she finds herself, once again, fighting for her life. With her only ally, the unlikely Sgt. Halcombe, Paulson is determined to bring a serial killer to justice.
Along with O’Nan (above), Cusak and Cage the thriller also stars Vanessa Hudgens (below), Katherine Lanasa, Radha Mitchell and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. FROZEN GROUND is filming now in Alaska so expect a lot more updates before it’s December 1, 2012 release date.
