Winning the Box Office for the second week in a row was REAL STEEL starring Hugh Jackman and the fighting robots. While not taking in as much as last week it held enough interest to beat the new releases. Coming in second was the remake of FOOTLOOSE, the race was tight between the two films, but in the end there can be only one winner.
So how did THE THING do? Well it sank below those two films making less than was expected. Opinions seemed to be quite mixed, some liked it, others hated it and some in-between. I am a huge fan of the original film and John Carpenters remake, no interest in this at all. Kind of not surprised to see this pull in these numbers, while FOOTLOOSE was a much easier sell on audiences.
Next week sees the release of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3; will this one out do what the others made? Or has this franchise lost its appeal already?
