Sorry if the headline got your hopes super high; these first photos from the set of R.I.P.D. aren’t exactly fascinating. that said, you’ve now got an idea what Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Bacon will look like in the film – well, at least one portion of the film, which is currently shooting in Boston, Mass. (Based on these, I’d say Reynolds’ character hasn’t died yet, but who knows?) I’m sure what we’re all really waiting for is a look at Jeff Bridges, just because he’s the f*cking man and you know it.

Welcome to the Rest In Peace Department — the devoted, yet dead, officers of divine law enforcement “patrolling the deadbeat…reporting to one boss.” Yep — THAT boss. Nick Cruz was murdered by an unknown assailent, at the height of his personal and professional life. Now he’s traded a hundred years of service to the R.I.P.D. in exchange for a shot at finding who killed him. Unfortunately his search will take him to Hell and back — literally!

Also starring Stephanie Szostak, Mary-Louise Parker, Marisa Miller, Mike O’Malley and James Hong, R.I.P.D. is scheduled for a JUNE 28, 2013 release.
