Lucky McKee’s THE WOMAN has been a hot topic ever since it caused a stir at the last Sundance Film Festival. It hits theaters in limited release soon, and I think it’s safe to say most of us are dying to take a gander at the supposedly shocking motion picture. The star of that film, Pollyanna McIntosh, is said to give an incredibly strong performance in the midst of countless atrocities and for her next film, it appears as though the rising star is once again not shying away from controversial subject matter…
According to Twitch, McIntosh has been cast in LOVE ETERNAL, a twisted tale of unnatural romance that has been adapted from the novel “Loving The Dead”. The author of said novel is Kei Oshi, who also created THE GRUDGE.
Dig on the creepy synopsis:
James Byron is a recluse who finally decides to commit suicide upon the death of his mother. He aborts his plans to end his life in the mountains, however, when he inadvertently witnesses the mass suicide of a group of strangers. Amy, one of the dead strangers grabs James’ attention. Captivated by the beauty of her face in death, he decides to take her body back to his home in the suburbs.
Upon embarking on a sexual relationship that grows into an emotional attachment with Amy, James’ outlook on life starts to brighten. However, rigor mortis soon sets in and Amy starts to decompose. James is forced to bury her in the back garden and starts looking for a new dead person..
Ick. I’m not one for necrophilia, dunno about you, but it sure does make for provocative material, doesn’t it?
Brendan Muldowney is directing LOVE ETERNAL, with shooting set to go down in Ireland and Luxembourg later this month.
