Olatunde Osunsanmi, director of the odd Milla Jovovich sci-fi flick THE FOURTH KIND, is prepping a different kind of found footage thriller with EVIDENCE, about a detective who has to piece together the identity of a murderer using only, well, found footage. According to Variety, Osunsanmi has sniffed out his detective, a young actor named Nolan Gerard Funk.

Funk has been featured in films like X2, BEREAVEMENT, and, maybe most notably, DEADGIRL (pictured above).

Here’s the synopsis for EVIDENCE:
Police arrive at an abandoned gas station following a brutal massacre. The only evidence at the crime scene is the victims’ personal electronic devices, including a camcorder, flip Cam, and two cell phones. With nothing else to go on, a detective must analyze the bits of “found footage” to piece together the identity of the killer.

Production is set to start this month in Los Angeles.
